Cambridge International College (CIC)
CIC is conveniently located in the Central Business District (CBD) of Melbourne. Melbourne Central Railway Station is located underneath the College. An extensive and affordable public transport network services the CBD and the City of Melbourne.
The College has three computer laboratories and a self-study centre equipped with 1a total of 70 computers, 10 Tandberg listening recorders.
The College also maintains a library of essential textbooks for students’ reference. The College offers students free email and Internet access. Students also have the use of a large recreation area, kitchen and dining area.
The College regularly organises extra-curricular activities, for instance, day-trips along the Great Ocean Road and Karaoke nights, so that students may have many opportunities to make friends and socialise with Melbournians and other students.
The Conversation Club is also held twice weekly – the Conversation Club gives English Language students the opportunity to improve their conversation skills!
The College aims to make its students who originate from all over the world, feel comfortable and supported whilst they pursue their academic and personal goals.
Courses
CIC offers courses in Business, English Language, Community Welfare, Multimedia, Printing and Graphic Arts (Graphic Pre-press) and Hairdressing.
English
The English Language Studies’ programs enable participants to develop their proficiency in English as an International Language, extend their English before undertaking further studies at the College, or at an Australian University, or prepare for internationally recognised English Language examinations.
Business
Gain the knowledge and skills to be technically proficient in a variety of aspects of exporting, importing, shipping, transport and customs. The broad range of business subjects offered are of great value as a general grounding for any student interested in a career in, or further study in Business.
Multimedia
The skills attained are suitable for employment across the industries of multimedia design and productions and across the arts, entertainment, e-commerce and media industries.
Graphic Pre-Press
This course delivers the necessary knowledge in pre-press and also provides introductory skills in graphic arts and multimedia on which the successful student can build skills that would enable employment in the printing industry.
Community Welfare
The Diploma of Community Welfare is a full-time two year course designed to prepare students to work at a professional level in the human services industry, in such areas as community organizations, church agencies, self-help groups and statutory services.
Hairdressing
Students enrolled in a Hairdressing course learn the essentials of haircutting and styling. If students enrol in the Diploma they also gain skills that will assist them in managing a salon.
