A course to assist you in preparing for life in the world of business, or perhaps for further studies in a business related course at University or college level. The course incorporates practice for the Test Of English for International Communication (TOEIC)

Focus on preparation for IELTS.
IELTS specific skills to help you gain the best possible score to enter certificate, diploma or degree level courses, skills to assist in further education and a continued development of essential communication skills.

Barista / Cafe English (CRICOS Code:064559J)
Intermediate+
Study period: 5 weeks
This course is designed to improve your English language skills to assist in the successful completion of the Barista Course and to assist you to improve your employability in the cafe and hospitality industry in particular. This course includes 3.5 hours of basic coffee making course, 6 hours advanced coffee making course, 2 hours of supervised practice sessions and 8 hours of work experience in addition to English classes. Students who successfully complete the course will receive two TAFE certificates (THHBFB12A & THHBFB 12B) in addition to their Impact certificate.

English for Bartending
Intermediate+
Study period: 5 weeks
This course is designed to improve your English language skills to assist in the successful completion of the Bartending Course and gaining employment in the hospitality industry. One week intensive Bartending training follows the four week English for Bartending course. Students who successfully complete the course will receive Australian Bartenders Guild Certificate, Victorian R.S.A. (Responsible Service of Alcohol) Certificate, National R.S.A. Certificate and a Certificate from Impact English College.

Cambridge First Certificate in English Exam Preparation (CRICOS Code:064512B)
Upper Intermediate
Study period: 10 weeks/12 weeks
Cambridge University Exam Preparation Course.
Highly sought after qualifications in General English assisting you in preparing for English speaking life in general, securing employment, or perhaps for further studies at university or college level. All students will take the 5 examinations at the end of the course and if successful, will receive a certificate from Cambridge University.

Cambridge CAE Exam Preparation
Advanced
Study period: 10 weeks/12 weeks
CAE is a University of Cambridge ESOL exam for people who can use everyday written and spoken English at an Advanced level. It is an ideal exam for people who want to use English confidently and flexibly. If you want a course that will help you improve every area of your English and you enjoy a really challenging course, Impact English College’s CAE course is the right one for you.

Completion of Upper Intermediate or higher
Study period: 10 weeks
A 10-week course for those wanting to gain skills in teaching English. Improve your English skills while learning the language of English Teaching, the methodology and practical applications. Gain real teaching experience and insights into the exciting field of teaching.
Entry into this course will depend on minimum English Language skills as determined by Impact English College.
Students also take the Cambridge University Teaching Knowledge Test at the end of the course. (additional cost)
Note: The certificate and test are not recognised as official teaching qualifications, however, students completing the course will gain a range of knowledge and experience that will assist them in teaching and/or further studies in this field.

English plus Conservation Volunteer Work Experience
Impact English College and Conservation Volunteers Australia are pleased to offer Impact students a wonderful opportunity to take part in a variety of Conservation Work Experience programs.
Students who study at Impact English College for 10 weeks or more, can take part in a 1 week conservation work experience program. Students need to book ahead and will be assigned a 1 week work experience placement during their 10 week study program. In other words, students on this program need to allow for 1 extra week to complete their total program.
The time of your conservation work experience week will depend on the availability and dates of CVA projects. In most cases, students will not be able to choose a particular project, but will be enrolled in the one that fits best with their course.
General English/IELTS/Business English students can take part in these projects during their course.
Students enrolled in English Skills for TESOL, Barista/Café English of FCE cannot take part during their English course, but may do so after their course has finished, depending on projects and dates offered by CVA. Students on any visa can elect to take this opportunity.
Here are three examples of possible programs:
5 weeks English + 1 week conservation work experience + 5 weeks English = Total 11 weeks
7 weeks English + 1 week conservation work experience + 7 weeks English = Total 15 weeks
12 weeks English + 1 week conservation work experience = Total 13 weeks
